Wendy Lau is the Executive Director of Leads Employment Services, which provides employment and skills development services for people with disabilities/barriers. Under her leadership, Leads has secured over 12,000 paid employment placements with retention of over 78% in the last 20 years. Leads also has been selected as one of the two finalists for the London Business Achievement Award in Excellence in Human Resources in 2004 and 2005, and one of the three finalists in 2006.
In the 25 years of practicing Community Integration and Supported Employment, Ms Lau has also obtained a graduate degree in Guidance & Counselling, certificate in Supported Employment Specialist Program and the National Certificate in Voluntary and Non-Profit sector Management. Ms Lau teaches the Supported Employment Program at Fanshawe College and has been published in FACING THE FUTURE, BEST PRACTICES IN SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT, Training Resource Network, Florida, USA.
Currently, she is one of the members in the Employment Accessibility Standard Development Committee for Accessibility for Ontarians for Disabilities Act.
